About Me

I am a christian, developer, a father and a gamer for the quick overview.

I have been going to Jersey Baptist Church for the last couple of years where I am a member. If you happen to stop in, I can be found every other week in the back of the Emerge service doing the video and presentations. I am also involved in the Christian Gaming community Tribe of Judah. I once did their web site and most recently the World of Warcraft Chapter Site but two kids keep me busy enough that I have largely turned over those responsibilities and now just hang out and play games.

I have been developing professionally for 7 years at United Parcel Service. Mainly intranet development using ASP and ColdFusion but I have experience with ASP.NET and PHP along with the myriad of other web related technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I have been a programmer since I entered in my first basic application from the back of a Home Computing magazine when I was in my teens. I also have a lot of experience with SQL server. Lately I have been doing Action Script development with Flash and working on some fun e-Learning projects at work and becoming all to familiar with SCORM.

I am married to my beautiful wife Stephanie and have two boys that keep us pretty busy now.

As I already mentioned, I am an avid gamer. My wife would use the words addicted gamer if you ask her. My current addiction is Blizzard's World of Warcraft. My guild is a chapter of Tribe of Judah and they are a great bunch of people from all over the place that love God and enjoy having a good time beating up murlocs. I love playing the occasional first person shooter and strategy game too.

That is a little bit about me. If you need to reach me, drop me a line at shooksm at hotmail.
